Good News: How the Four Gospels Point Us to One Person We Can Trust - A Study of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John

As believers, we are called to live like Jesus and find rest in Him. But we can't live like Jesus if we don't really know how He lived during His time on earth. And we’ll never feel comfortable coming to Him with our troubles if we don’t truly understand what a trustworthy, safe place He is for us. We are diving into 30 significant moments of His life and ministry in our new study so that we can become better friends with our Savior. When we are worn down and need hope, the Gospels remind us He is close. He is not a far-off and distant figure in history; He became a very real human so we might know Him today and learn to live by His example.

Queen For A Day

  • Oakland heights baptist church (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Saturday, September 23

The purpose of this day is to minister to the Women of HWY 80 Mission House and Graciously Broken. We will be honoring them with a meal, facials, haircuts/style, manicures, and a shopping trip to Kohl’s. Our intent is to meet their physical needs and at the same time to meet a spiritual need by telling them, in several different ways, of Jesus’ love for them.

There are several ways that you can volunteer to help us make this a successful, impactful day!

● Prayer- Pray for the women God will bring to OHBC that morning.
● Volunteer your time! This truly is a joyful day of fellowship with women in our community. You will spend time getting to know them; listening and sharing as God leads the conversation. You will have the opportunity to go shopping with them. It truly is just a fabulous “Girls Day”.
● Monetary Donations- Thanks to your support of our Bingo Night, we will be providing gift cards to Kohls. However, if you or your small group feel led to donate, we would be able to add to the amount on each gift card.
● We are in search of the following items to make this day a success.
     ○ Nail Lamps
     ○ Portable Massage Tables

If you would like to donate your time or resources for this event, please call the church office at 903-753-0291.

Ladies, join us on Saturday, March 25 at 9 a.m. in the The Center for our Prayer Breakfast, and stay for the Blessings Swap from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It’s like a giant, multi-family yard sale, but with NO price tags! Take the time to gather the “extras” in your life - outgrown clothing, toys, accessories, shoes, housewares, etc. - and share them with others! Are there things that YOU need? Help yourself to what others have brought! It’s that easy!

This year we are specifically asking for business casual attire for women to be donated. We will have a designated time for the ladies of Graciously Broken and Hwy 80 to be able to look for items that could be a blessing in their lives!

We ask that the clothing items you bring be in GOOD condition (no tears, holes, or stains); children’s toys, sports equipment and children’s books in GOOD condition, and toys must be CLEAN. Label your bag or box with the sizes included, and drop them off on one of our donation days. We will have team members there to help you. THEN, come back on Swap Day to look through the items others have brought. There’s NO charge - absolutely no money involved! Bring what you want to give away, take what you need!

If you would like to volunteer to help prepare for the Blessing Swap or to serve the day of, please contact the church office at 903.753.0291.

All items that do not find a new home during The Swap will be donated to local charities.
