This night includes a free fajita meal provided by On The Border, entertainment, an inspiring word from our guest speaker, and updates from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Coaches Outreach.

Guest Speaker: Jeff Traylor
Named UTSA’s third head coach on Dec. 9, 2019, Jeff Traylor has had an immediate impact on the program, university and city of San Antonio during his tenure.
Traylor has more than 30 years of coaching experience including a highly successful 15-year career as head coach at Gilmer High School, where he led teams to three state championships and two state runner-up finishes.
A 1986 graduate of Gilmer High School, Traylor earned both undergraduate (1990) and graduate (2002) degrees in education from Stephen F. Austin while playing football as a walk-on.
He and his wife, Cari, have three children: Jordan, Jacob, and Jaci.

Love is in the air and that means tickets for our annual Love Our Community Valentines Banquet are now available. Join us on February 13 at 6 p.m., for an evening filled with music, fun, and so much more. Guests will enjoy a three course dinner, childcare and lots of extras including a fabulous live and silent auction. All proceeds will go to fund the SALT Ministry Benevolence program.

Our very own Sarah Miller returns as the most joyful bingo caller in Longview, and there will be plenty of amazing prizes. The cost will be $20 and all proceeds go to help support the Queen For A Day Event this fall. We will utilize interactive journals, lessons that are relevant to the world our kids are growing up in, and scriptural songs that our kids will look forward to singing as we worship our Creator. Our kids will all be on the same lesson every week as we learn together how to grow in Christ and serve our creator.

Baby Dedication is a time when parents publicly commit themselves to raising their children according to God's standards. Acknowledging with gratitude that the child is a gift from God and recognizing that as parents we need God’s wisdom and help in raising them in the way of the LORD.
As part of our service on Mother’s Day, May 10, we will have a time of Baby Dedication during worship beginning at 9:45 a.m. We hope you will be a part of this special celebration.

Join the Oakland Heights Baptist Church community for a special Christmas Eve Service on December 24 at 5:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary or online. We will spend the evening worshipping, celebrating, and remembering the incredible gift of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Due to the Christmas holiday, the church office will be closed.
We will NOT be having small groups this Sunday. Worship Service will be at 9:45 a.m.
Youth worship takes place upstairs in the youth room on most Wednesday nights. Students gather for a time of activities, student-led worship music, and a relevant Bible study teaching time. Often, they will finish the night with small groups divided by age and gender.
Gone are the days of short-term verse memorization with the goal being “earning” cheap toys that wind up under the seats in your car. We are moving forward with an exciting, engaging program that speaks biblical truth, presents current issues, and gives our children the privilege to prioritize serving others.
KidzLife was built with Scripture at its core. We will utilize interactive journals, lessons that are relevant to the world our kids are growing up in, and scriptural songs that our kids will look forward to singing as we worship our Creator. Our kids will all be on the same lesson every week as we learn together how to grow in Christ and serve our creator.
We aren’t just looking for an easy way to occupy the children in our church family. Our goal with this new program is to guide your children to hide The Word in their hearts, to move actively towards salvation, to be bold in their faith, and to earn the right to be a blessing to real people around the world.

It all begins at 10:31 a.m. as we study God’s Word together with Senior Pastor, Michael Cook. We will walk through scripture verse by verse, revealing key insights and application to our daily life.
Our study time will then be followed by lunch.

Grab your families and join us for a family fun ornament decorating event! We’ll have a great time starting at 5 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
The OHBC Women’s Ministry invites you to join us for Cocoa, Carols, & Christmas Cards at the home of Pastor and Becky Cook, 9230 West Noonday Road, on Sunday, December 14 at 5 p.m. A soup and salad dinner will be provided followed by Carols, a Cocoa Bar, and a Time to Write Christmas Cards to our Military Troops. We will be sending a care package as well, if you would like to bring an item to contribute, the following suggestions were sent to us:
Candy ( preferably not chocolate)
Gum
Coffee Pods
Laundry Pods
Lip balm/ Toiletries
Playing Cards
Bus transportation will be provided. We ask that you meet at the church at 4:30, if you are interested in riding the bus. Please call the church office at 903-753-0291 or register online so we know how many to prepare for.
